Sign in on your phone

The Summit Spend app for iPhone and Android is the fastest way to capture a receipt, right after you buy something. Sign in with the same email you use on the web.

Snap a receipt

Open the Receipts tab and tap Take Photo. You can also tap Upload File or Choose from Library if the receipt is already on your phone. Summit reads the receipt and suggests the charge it belongs to. If the charge hasn't come in from the bank yet, that's fine; the receipt waits, and you can match it later with Find Matching Transaction. On the web, the same receipts wait on the Receipts page, with a Find Match button.

Attach from a charge

If you're already looking at the charge, open it from the Transactions tab and tap Attach Receipt. While you're there, you can fill in coding fields, split a charge, and mark it reviewed. Here's the same charge on the web, with its receipt area, coding fields, Split and Mark reviewed.

Cash expenses and lost receipts

Paid for something yourself? Tap Add Cash Expense, fill it in, and turn on Submit for reimbursement. On the web, that's New Expense on the Reimbursements page. Lost a receipt? If your company allows waivers, open the charge and tap I don't have a receipt. On Android, it's Request receipt waiver. Say why, and an approver will review it. If you approve spending, you'll also have an Approvals tab, with Approve and Reject on each item, like the Approvals page on the web.

What still needs the web

Two things still need the web. Memos: the app shows the memo but can't edit it yet, so add memos at app.summitspend.com. And settings, invitations and anything an admin sets up. Snap it when you buy it, add the memo when you're at your desk, and you're done.
