Keep your cards

Summit Spend works with the company cards you already have. You don't switch card programs. You connect your card accounts once, and new charges flow in on their own. Only an Admin can do this.

Connect a card account

Go to Cards & banks and click Connect account. A secure window from Plaid opens. Find your bank, and sign in with the same online banking login you use today. Pick the card accounts to bring in. Then choose how far back to import, from the last thirty days up to all available history. The cards appear here on Cards & banks, each with its balance and this month's spend, and their charges show up on Transactions. Summit checks for new charges through the day, so new ones keep arriving on their own.

Assign each card

Next, give every card an owner. A cardholder sees, and gets reminders for, the cards assigned to them, so this step matters. Go to Settings, Cards & receipts, Card owners. Pick the owner for each card; the department comes from that person's profile. If you use Sage Intacct, fill in the Charge card ID too. A card without one shows "Not mapped" and will fail to export. You can also assign cards from a person's page, under Cards.

Share a card

Sometimes a Member needs to see a card they don't hold, like an office manager who tracks a shared card. Open People, click the person, and add the card under Can also see. They'll see that card's charges everywhere: lists, approvals, reports and exports. Managers and Admins already see every card, so this only shows for Members.

Keep the feed healthy

Banks sometimes ask you to sign in again. Each card here shows its status, and its three-dot menu opens the card's settings: name, type, balance display and whether it's active. When a bank needs you, Cards & banks shows "Connection Requires Attention." Click Reconnect Now and sign in again; charges pick up where they left off. For charges older than your first import, use Pull Historical on the connection.
