Before you start

Summit Spend exports coded card spend straight into Sage Intacct, with your GL accounts and dimensions. Only an Admin can connect it, and Sage Intacct is included on the Professional plan and up. You'll need admin access in Sage Intacct for the first part. Connect it before your team starts coding, so the right fields are there from day one.

Prepare Sage Intacct

There are three steps in Sage Intacct. First, make sure the Web Services subscription is on. You'll find it under Company, then Subscriptions. Second, create a Web Services user for Summit Spend to sign in as. That's under Company, Web Services Users. Third, authorize Summit. In Summit, the connect screen shows Summit's client ID with a copy button. In Sage Intacct, go to Company, Setup, Company, Security, Authorized client applications. Add the client ID, and set that entry's Web Services user ID to the user you just created.

Connect in Summit

Back in Summit, go to Settings, Accounting, ERP connection and click Connect on Sage Intacct. Enter the Web Services username in the form WS user, at sign, company ID, and click Connect. Once it's connected, the card says Connected, and Manage opens the connection page. Click Sync fields from Sage Intacct. Summit brings in your GL accounts, locations, departments, projects, classes, customers, vendors and charge cards. Then visit Accounting fields to pick which of those dimensions your team sees, and which are required.

Map your charge cards

Each card in Summit needs to point at its charge card in Sage. Go to Settings, Cards & receipts, Card owners, and fill in the Charge card ID for each card. A card without one fails to export, so check this list before your first export.

Export coded spend

Charges that are coded, approved and complete wait on the Accounting page under Ready to sync. With Sage Intacct connected, they go to Sage from there, or with Sync All on the Ready tab of Transactions. Prefer a file? Export to CSV and Export with Receipts (ZIP) are on the Accounting page. If a charge fails, its Sync to Sage Intacct box shows Sync Error. Open it: the banner says what went wrong, and Show error details has Sage's own message. Fix the cause, then click Retry sync, or Retry N Failed on the Accounting page for all of them.

Automatic export

Once your first few exports look right, you can have Summit send charges to Sage as soon as they're approved and coded. Go to Settings, Summit AI, find Export to Sage Intacct, open its Settings, and turn on Card charges. It's off until you turn it on.
