Work through your Approvals queue on the web or your phone: approve, reject with a reason, handle flagged spend and nudge cardholders.
If you approve spend, everything waiting on you is on the Approvals page in the left menu. The number next to it is how many items need you. To approve in Summit you need the Manager or Admin role. If you can't see the Approvals page, ask your admin. The tabs narrow the list. All is everything waiting on you. Flagged is spend that broke a policy rule. Missing items is spend where the coding isn't finished, or a required receipt is missing.
Click a row. You'll see the receipt, merchant, amount, date, cardholder, GL account and any policy check. Choose Approve or Reject. Skip moves on and leaves it for later. Rejecting asks for a reason of at least ten characters. The cardholder sees it, can fix the charge, and resubmit it. If the coding is wrong, you don't have to reject. Click Full detail, fix the Coding section, then approve. Have a question first? Click Open full detail and use the comment box on its Approval chain card. You can @mention people there.
Approving a flagged charge asks for a short justification, so there's a record of why it was OK. To move fast, tick the boxes on several rows and click Approve N or Reject N. If any of them are flagged, one justification covers them all. Use Search merchant or person and Filters to work through one cardholder at a time, or the largest charges first. If a charge needs more than one approver, you'll see who it's waiting on.
When cardholders are behind, open the Missing items tab, tick the charges and click Remind cardholders. Each cardholder gets one in-app notice listing what they need to finish.
On the go, the Summit Spend app has an Approvals tab with Approve and Reject on each item. Tap Select to decide on several at once. To change coding, use the web. You can always see what you've approved and declined under History on the Approvals page.
