Integration guide
Connect Sage Intacct to Summit Spend
Sync your chart of accounts and dimensions into Summit Spend, code card transactions against them, and export coded transactions and receipts to Sage Intacct.
Before you start
- A Sage Intacct user with company administrator rights, to change subscriptions and security settings.
- A Summit Spend administrator with permission to connect Sage Intacct.
- Your Sage Intacct Company ID: the value you type in the Company ID box when you sign in to Sage Intacct. It is not always the company name shown at the top of the screen.
Set up Sage Intacct
- Turn on the Web Services subscription. In Sage Intacct, open Company › Subscriptions and make sure Web Services is on. Sage lets you complete the next steps without it, but every connection attempt will fail until it is on.
- Create a Web Services user. Open Company › Admin › Web Services users and add a user for Summit Spend, for example
summitspend. Give it read access to your GL accounts and dimensions, and write access to credit card transactions and supporting documents. If your company uses multiple entities, create this user at the top level; you choose the entity in Summit Spend. - Authorize Summit Spend. Open Company › Setup › Company › Security › Authorized client applications and add Summit Spend's client ID. You can copy the client ID from the Sage Intacct connect form in Summit Spend. Set the Web Services user ID on that entry to the user you created in step 2.
Connect in Summit Spend
- Open Summit Spend Settings › Integrations and select Connect on the Sage Intacct card.
- Enter the Web Services username as the user ID, then @, then your Company ID, for example
summitspend@ACME. Select Connect. - Summit Spend starts the first dimension sync. It usually finishes within a minute. After that, dimensions sync automatically every few hours, and you can select Sync dimensions at any time.
Finish setup
- Entity (multi-entity companies only): on the Sage Intacct settings page, choose the entity Summit Spend should export to. If you change it later, select Sync dimensions straight away so coding uses that entity's values.
- Dimensions: in Settings › Dimensions, choose which dimensions appear when coding and which are required.
- Charge cards: in Settings › Cards & receipts › Card owners, enter the Sage Intacct charge card ID for each connected card account and save. A card with no charge card ID cannot export.
- Receipts: to send receipt images to Sage Intacct as supporting documents, enter the Web Services user's company ID, user ID and password under Receipt attachment sync on the Sage Intacct settings page. Ask Summit Spend support for our sender ID and add it under Company › Setup › Company › Security › Web Services authorizations.
Troubleshooting
- “Sage Intacct didn't accept that Web Services user”: Summit Spend is authorized, but Sage would not sign in as that user. Check that the Web Services subscription is on, that the user exists and is active, that it is set on the Summit Spend entry under Authorized client applications, and that the username is the user ID, then @, then the Company ID.
- “Summit Spend isn't authorized for that Sage Intacct company yet”: add the client ID under Authorized client applications (step 3), and check that the Company ID after the @ is exactly the one you sign in with.
- “Sage Intacct is unavailable right now”: Sage is down or in maintenance. Try again in a few minutes.
- A dimension syncs zero values: your company may not use it, or the Web Services user cannot read it. Check the user's permissions in Sage Intacct.
- Reconnect required: connect again from the Sage Intacct card with the same username. You do not need to disconnect first.
Disconnect
On the Sage Intacct settings page, select Disconnect Sage Intacct. This revokes Summit Spend's current Sage Intacct token and deletes the dimensions synced for this organization (child entities keep theirs). Transactions you already exported stay in Sage Intacct. To remove Summit Spend's access completely, also delete its entry under Company › Setup › Company › Security › Authorized client applications in Sage Intacct. To fix a broken connection, reconnect instead of disconnecting.
